Kittens, kittens, kittens

Last Friday I took a fun class at the Country Loft called "Brown Bag".Jo Ann does this once a month and basically you just bring needle and thread and she surprises you with a fun project that you can finish (usually) in the 2 hour class period. This was my first one but many of the ladies had been doing it since the beginning 6 years ago. This is the cute little wool needle and pin wallet we made. More cute quilts they had up:While I was taking the class my daughter called to inform me that she and her brother had found a little orphan kitten in our backyard and could I (while running a gazillion other errands for her big birthday bash later that afternoon) please add bottles, kitten formula and other sundry kitten supplies to my list..."why of course sweetie I was hoping to cram a few more to-do's into my day :) This is Lemon:I discovered that weekend that Lemon was a high need kitten and "needed" to be in my lap almost non-stop. My kiddo's were off attending various parties and left me with kitten care duty. The bright side is that I discovered that while I couldn't really sew with Lemon in my lap I could do stitcheries and I actually finished these that I started last Summer to make this bag with. It is also Jo Ann's pattern (Jam) from Country Loft. Had to buy a few new patterns. Hey they were 2 for 1 what else could I do?
Monday Morning I was the lucky recipient of this happy package from Darlene. I won a blog give-away a while back and in addition to my prize of the sidewinder she made me a little heart pincushion out of some Mary Engelbreit fabric she had cuz she knows I love it!!! Isn't she a sweetie? Thanks Big Sis! Later on Monday we discovered Lemon was one of triplets...yes we are now bottle feeding 3 kittens!!! Or dropper feeding actually. I was thinking of having a blog give away of kittens lolol any takers?? The good thing about finding her brothers is that she has gotten a little less needy, so I'm crossing my fingers that I might actually get some quilting done this weekend!! See the goat milk all over their faces...and Sarah's shorts...oh and the carpet --they are so messy lol!! And now I'm going to leave you with more kitten pictures...lots more kitten pictures...way more kitten pictures than ought to be on a blog but they are so cute I couldn't pick just one. I am warning you though so you can leave now if you hate kitten pictures and not waste your time :) The little guy in the middle was actually asleep and kept almost falling over...wish I had a video! Meet Scottie and Carmel and of course Lemon...

awwwww the kittys are cute! fitting that they are GINGER ones!!
their mum hasn't just gone for a wee walk and put them in your yard safe? very sad :O( but very cute! I keep saying we need another cat, then I smack myself about 1000 times! one ba$tard cat is enough eh?
I love the brown bag idea, and 2 hour project? perfect, I hate doing classes and coming home with MORE UFO's!
Love the pincushion!

How cute are the kitties? I love kittens but I think the cat I already have would kill me :(

But you get 3 at once! How awesome :)

I really need to get to Country Loft someday - cute stuff. Speaking of cute stuff - those little sweet kittens are adorable and lucky to be in your home where they are being taken care of so well.

OMG are they so cute. I love little ones. I wish I lived closer and I definitely would take one. I always wanted an orange one to add to my family.

OhMyGosh!!! Aren't they adorable? Such lucky little kitties -- I wish I were closer too -- an orange kitty would be fun. Of course Scruff would probably freak out though. Yay for us too -- now there will be cute kitty pics on your blog -- Kitties and quilts -- its a perfect combo!

Oh I know the joys of feeding a tiny baby stray all too well. My hubby's company of guys found one abandoned and all of them took care of her until she was old enough to go to a good home. More milk went on her than in her! Yes, watch for a mommy running around, they can hide the kittens and leave for a while.

Country Loft...drool!!!

These are quite possibly the cutest kitty pictures I have ever seen! Lemon is a keeper for sure!! I like the idea of a blog give away. I already have 5 or I would have signed up, LOL.

I love ginger cats above all others - even though Rosie is black and white. How old do you reckone they are? I wish you lots of luck in rearing them and hope they're old enough to be okay without mum.

Such cute kitty pictures..what a good mom you are and how great for you and your kids to take care of those sweeties. You are so lucky to be that close to Country Loft, and that brown bag class looks like

Those kittens are just about the cutest ever. Oh Country Loft is just the most wonderful shop. LOVE everything I see hanging on the walls. I would have been in way too much trouble. I saw that bag pattern when I was there. I love it...but I am scared to death of putting a bag together. I'll wait for you...tell me how hard it is. LOL!

So much cuteness - oh my goodness! We had an orange tabby named Trouble, oh so many years ago. I loved that cat - no I don't want another one. :-)

The Country Loft - a someday visit. Sigh! LOL

Hugs, Lil Sis!!!

Looks to me like you are going to have an addition of three to your family because you won't be able to part with them. The kitty pictures are adorable!
I like the brown bag idea. Wonder how someone can come up with enough ideas for projects for 6 years?
I am in pin cushion mode right now. I think your ME pin cushion is very cute and just right for you.

Precious kittens! I am sure they were left there by some coward, lol. It was wonderful of you to take them in. They are so much fun when they are little. The brown bag idea sounds like a fun time but I don't think I could ever finish a project in two hours, lol.

I love reading your blog, very inspiring. I would love to see more pictures of your studio/sewing area. I need some inspiration in this area.
and you homeschool too, do you have certain times of the day to sew? Would love to chat more; all your fav movies and most of your fav books are mine too.....

Oh wow...I would take one of those kitties in a minute! Orange kitties are my absolute favorite! And female orange cats are rare, from what I understand. You are so kind to take such good care of them...

They are so darling!! Cute little golden yellow kittens. Darling. Luck you? haha We have kitten stories like that at our house, too. Your class sounds like so much fun. What a good idea. And what a nice gift from that Darlene. She's amazing.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for so generously offering to help me out! I just found your blog and have enjoyed browsing around ... you have so many great projects going on and your work is BEAUTIFUL! Your blog has already been added to my Google Reader!
Thanks again -- your kindness and generosity is appreciated.

P.S. The kittens are adorable. My daughters would love to take one off of your hands, but my allergies wouldn't allow it. BUT ... I hope to have some pictures of our new puppy online soon.

I am ready for an update on the kitty situation. How are they doing?

This was my first chance to read your post and I'm just smiling. Seeing kittens brings all those warm fuzzy feelings but the fact that you took them in and are taking care of them is wonderful. I have 2 cats and have lived with cats my entire life. Now about the project/class of the month...that would be sooo fun to have here....

I stumbled across your blog and found you are a homeschool mom who quilts as well. Me too! I just wanted to say hi. I usually just lurk without saying hi to strangers, but you have such excellent taste in fabric (same as myself), I couldn't resist a greeting. LOL

Kindest regards,
AllyJo

There's nothing more irresistible that kittens. I know I have two that were once kittens. Be careful, they grow into cats.
